The ultimate goal of Tiny Tower is to build the tallest tower possible. This means that construction is of the utmost importance.
Initially, your tower will consist of a single floor - the Lobby. As a player builds more floors, more Bitizens can live and work in the tower. Creating more housing and shops is the key to bringing in more and more coins, which in turn allows for more floors to be added.
As the game progresses, floors become increasingly more expensive to build, as well as taking more time to complete.
Construction Worker VIPs can be used to speed up construction, but only the Cheaper Materials tech will reduce the cost.
Construction can also be hurried with Bux, with a base cost of 36 bux per hour and never more than 1000 total cost. The player will be notified with a pop-up when a "new <floor name> floor has finished construction!".
Usage []
When the player has enough coins, they can tap the "build floor" sign. A message will appear, asking if the player wants to "Build a new floor at a cost of X coins?" If you tap "Yes," the game will construct an Empty Floor. You may then choose which type of floor should be built. This will lead to a Coming Soon construction floor.
The new floor within the selected category is randomly chosen. While a floor is under construction, you can try predicting what kind of floor it will be built.
However, players with the VIP package are able to choose exactly what floor they would like to construct (see Soda Brewery).

Construction Time and Costs[]
- Each floor takes 30 minutes longer to build than the floor before it (except floors 2 and 3 which are completed instantly)
- Each floor below level 10 costs 5,000 coins. The cost of floors between 10 and 2,064 gets rounded to the nearest 1,000.
- Floors 2,065 and up are capped at 2,147,483,000 coins but will show 2^31 = 2,147,483,648 coins on a tower.
- The construction costs for level 10 and higher seem to follow the following formula: cost = 1000(1/2 x^2 + 8x - 117) (not correct anymore)

The time required to build on any floor depends on the total floor count, not the floor the construction happens on. It is discouraged to build many empty floors and then fill them up as they will all take the same time to build (the top floor's).
