Floors are an essential gameplay component in Tiny Tower. Each player's Tower consists of floors. When a player first begins, they start with only a Lobby, and gradually build up their Tower.

The two main types of floors are Commercial floors and Residential floors.

The player can move any floor at any time for free. They may be moved any number of stories up or down, although never beneath the lobby, which will always be on the ground floor.

Any floor can be renamed, although there is a 16 character limit. Floors may also be deleted and reverted to the Empty Floor state. Build new floors wisely to keep a good balance of workers and keep all Bitizens employed and happy.

Commercial floors[]

Commercial floors are stores and venues that stock and sell a variety of different items and services.

Each commercial floor sells three different types of items (see Stock for details). A commercial floor requires workers (up to three Bitizens) to stock items and keep the floor open so that the player can make money. This is because items will always sell for more than the cost of stocking. Commercial floors can be upgraded to stock more items.

Commercial floors are separated into five different categories: Food, Service, Recreation, Retail, and Creative.

Residential floors[]

Residential floors are apartments that Bitizens live in. Each apartment has a distinct name and visual theme.

Up to 5 Bitizens can live in one apartment. They became 6 after unlocking "Shared Living" from the Tech Tree (or if the floor's 2GT upgrade is purchased or 7 if both of these are purchased). They move in if they land on a residential floor with a vacancy in the elevator. Bux or the Real Estate Agent VIP can also be used. Any Bitizen can be evicted per the player's wishes. In order to evict a Bitizen, the floor they are working on (if any) must not be in the process of stocking anything. The player may wish to rush stocking with Bux to evict.
